It is a movement in which young professionals or grown-ups live together in a communal environment, where residents pay a little extra to mix and mingle with one another at Sunday artisanal potluck dinners, weekend art workshops, or various common spaces in the building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A recent Wired magazine article about co-living pointed out that \u201camong the young, the &#8220;loneliness epidemic&#8221; has gone viral: nearly 60 per cent of 18- to-34-year-olds told the Mental Health Foundation they felt lonely often or sometimes.\u201d So co-living seems to be a good medicine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. They are becoming popular in urban centres in Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and North America, maximizing profits for developers and landlords and providing relatively low-priced accommodation. Microapartments are often designed for futons, or with pull-down beds, folding desks and tables, and extra-small or hidden appliances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2013, New York City got its<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/uk-usa-newyork-apartments-idUSLNE86900Z20120710\"> first microapartment building<\/a>, with 55 units that are as small as 250 square feet (23 m2) and ceilings from nine to ten feet (2.7 to 3.0 m).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
