Costa Brava - Empordà

Less than two hours from Barcelona, taken from the zone’s most distant point on the border with France, and less than 45 minutes from Girona airport, Empordà county and its coast, known as the Costa Brava, is one of the most beautiful areas in Catalonia, the favourite tourist destination for many of the visitors to our country.

Within a 30-minute radius you can visit medieval towns (Peratallada, Pals, Monells, Rupia, Foixà, and others), leisure and shopping centres (Platja D’Aro, Lloret, Tossa, Roses) and delightful fishing villages such as Llafranc, Calella and Cadaqués (famous for its artistic ambience).

The area combines beaches of great beauty and variety: long beaches with fine sand, such as Platja D’Aro, Calonge, S’Agaró, Roses, Empuriabrava and L’Estartit; small bays perfect for anchoring boats and going snorkelling, such as Begur and Palamós; beaches in small and delightful fishing villages such as Llafranc, Cadaqués, Port de la Selva and Calella; or magnificent settings such as those of Tossa de Mar, the Cap Roig gardens in Empúries and Peralada Castle.

Once on the Costa Brava, we should not overlook a visit to Girona, the delightful capital, as well as to Figueres, the Dalí city, on which the famous surrealist artist has left a deep imprint with his amazing museum.

The Empordà is at the same time famous for its gastronomy, its climate and a combination of tradition and tourism in perfect harmony. It is a landscape we might mistake for Italy’s Tuscany. Magnificent stone mansions (masies), top luxury hotels dotted around small historical centres, riding centres, golf courses and marinas all around the zone. The Empordà also has town centres perfectly prepared to meet any requirement (La Bisbal, Palafrugell, Palamós, Girona, Figueres).
Anything we might need — peace and quiet, having a good time, eating a simple fisherman rice dish or savouring a sophisticated Michelin-star meal — always less than 30 minutes from where we are staying.
Luxury and tradition right at hand, and with Barcelona less than an hour-and-a-half away!
