At the foot of the mountain of Collserola are over 10 riding centers between the towns of Sant Cugat, Sant Just Desvern and Molins de Rei. Collserola Natural Park offers ideal conditions for this sport since there are several routes and options to enjoy nature on horseback.

Only in Sant Cugat there are officially registered 330 horses and it is the city with the most traditional equestrian history of the country. It currently has 7 riding centers. In fact, between 1970 and 1990, Sant Cugat had a census of 1,200 horses and was the city of Spain with more horses per capita.

Its benefits have been proven over time both cognitive and therapeutic with the hippotherapy, which helps to improve the health of the person you are working with.

Contrary to popular belief, this is not an elitist sport. There are many ways to practice it without involving an excessive outlay. you can practice in family, without distinguishing between sex or physical conditions, can help to reduce costs, for example, sharing the hores.

There are several different disciplines such as dressage, jumping, horseball – basketball riding a horse–, etc. and many of these can compete officialy. In Catalonia there are 5 clubs approved by the Spanish Equestrian Federation, a recognition that distinguishes them from other clubs, and among them is the Riding Club Collserola, in Sant Cugat del Vallès, and the and RC Polo of Barcelona.
